The Murwillumbah Show is held at the Murwillumbah Showground and is now one of the oldest continually running agricultural shows in Australia celebrating its 100th Show in the year 2000. The annual Murwillumbah Show is held on the first weekend of November.
Thanks to our many generous sponsors we are able to offer free entry to the Show.
Each year we have many Horse events in the ring, on both Friday and Saturday, and a wonderful Trotting programme on Saturday afternoon, continuing into early evening. There is also a free Rodeo on Friday night.
We have competitions for Dairy Cattle, Stud Beef Cattle, Commercial Beef Cattle, Sheep, Wool, Poultry, Sugar Cane, Bananas and a Miniature Goat Show.
Our Pavilion is the home to many competitions and exhibits, including Farm Produce, Fruit & Vegetables, Horticulture, Preserves, Cooking, Fine Arts, Craftwork, Needlework, Home Brewing, Photography and displays from students from the local schools.
Children are welcome to participate in our Open Class Pavilion sections.
There are awe-inspiring Woodchopping events on Saturday with both Underhand and Standing Block Handicaps.
There are numerous stalls and food outlets, music and entertainment from afternoon until the evening on both days. The Branding Rail offers meals, bar and music.
Thanks to the Showmens Guild of Australia there are a variety of rides operating on both days, catering to all ages.
The Show Opening and Grand Parade are held on Saturday at 2:00pm, where the announcement of the Showgirl winners are made. An amazing fireworks display on Saturday night marks the finale to the Show.
